About the Role

  • As a DevOps Automation Engineer, you will become part of HARMAN’s innovative automotive engineering team working on advanced Camera and Vision Systems.
  • The role focuses on creating and enhancing automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines across embedded platforms such as Linux, QNX, and Android.
  • You will play a vital role in streamlining software integration, testing, and deployment processes to ensure the delivery of high-quality automotive software solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Designing, developing, and maintaining automation tools and scripts for embedded camera and vision applications.
  • Building and improving CI/CD pipelines for efficient software delivery.
  • Creating and integrating automated testing solutions to ensure software quality and reliability.
  • Supporting performance analysis and optimization of embedded systems running on Linux, QNX, and Android.
  • Working closely with internal engineering teams and external suppliers to understand and refine system requirements.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth software integration and release management.
  • Identifying and resolving build, deployment, and automation-related issues.
  • Preparing documentation for automation frameworks, testing strategies, and development processes.
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of DevOps practices and automation workflows.

Skills and Qualifications Required

  • Embedded Systems & Platforms
    • Strong understanding of embedded systems and operating systems such as Linux, QNX, and Android.
    • Familiarity with software build processes, deployment, and debugging techniques in embedded environments.
  • Automation & Scripting
    • Good programming and scripting skills, particularly in Python or similar languages.
    • Experience developing automation scripts and tools.
  • CI/CD & Cloud Technologies
    • Basic to intermediate knowledge of CI/CD pipeline development.
    • Hands-on exposure to tools and platforms such as:
      • GitLab CI/CD
      • AWS or GCP (basic understanding)
    • Knowledge of software build, integration, and release processes.
  • Testing & Validation
    • Understanding of testing methodologies used in embedded software development.
    • Exposure to automated testing and validation practices.
  • Software Engineering Fundamentals
    • Knowledge of software design concepts and system architecture.
    • Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.

Preferred Skills (Good to Have)

Candidates with any of the following skills will have an added advantage:

  • Experience with testing frameworks like Robot Framework, Pytest, or GTest.
  • Exposure to Agile, Scrum, or SAFe development methodologies.
  • Understanding of automotive camera systems, vision systems, or infotainment technologies.
  • Knowledge of Generative AI applications in test automation or CI/CD workflows.
  • Experience collaborating with multiple teams, including external vendors or suppliers.
