Job Summary:
The On-Site Service Technician provides technical support and acts as the primary customer contact for diagnosing and completing fewer complex repairs on Cummins products at a single customer site. This role includes preventative maintenance and repair tasks, as well as assisting with escalations when needed.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Engagement:
- Interact with customers in a courteous and professional manner.
- Anticipate and respond promptly to customer needs, ensuring a high level of service.
Technical Repairs
- Use specialized tools and documented procedures to diagnose and complete less complex repairs.
- Identify and prepare required parts and tools for repair jobs.
- Assist in preventative maintenance activities and basic repairs carried out by customer employees.
Escalations And Documentation
- Escalate unresolved technical issues to more experienced On-Site Technicians or supervisors as necessary.
- Complete and submit all required documentation, including service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, and quality documents, either handwritten or electronically.
Maintenance And Safety
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools are kept in proper working condition.
- Adhere to all Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) policies and report any safety concerns or incidents to site management and supervisors.
Training And Development
- Participate in ongoing training and skill development in line with business and technical requirements.

- Engine Systems Interactions:
- Analyze internal and external electrical and mechanical systems, utilizing tools and service publications to diagnose and repair efficiently.
- Product Repair and Maintenance:
- Perform mechanical and electrical repairs, adhering to guidelines, ensuring quality, and minimizing customer costs.
- Service Documentation:
- Accurately document customer and technical information in service management systems for proper record-keeping.
- Technical Escalation:
- Escalate complex technical issues, balancing quick customer response with thorough investigation.

Qualifications
- Apprentice Certified Power Generation or Engine Technician (preferred).
- Vocational diploma from a relevant technical institution.
- Current relevant electrical certification (optional).
- Locally valid driving permit.
- Licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations may be required.
Experience
- Basic level field service experience.
- Intermediate-level knowledge of power generation or engine products.
- Experience with high voltage/low voltage systems (optional).
- Strong customer service experience.
- Expertise in engine systems and aftertreatment systems (ATS).
